Chapter 7

A Wednesday evening Bible class in which Steve Patton takes Luke 7 from verse 11: Jesus stopping a funeral procession at the gate of Nain and giving a widow her only son back, then John the Baptist sending from prison to ask whether Jesus is the one to come. Patton argues the miracles were occasioned by compassion but aimed at proving Jesus is the Son of God, and the class turns into a long exchange over why a local church is not a social service agency.
