About this sermon

Luke 11 finds Jesus accused of casting out demons by Beelzebul, and this evening class follows how bluntly he answers: a divided kingdom cannot stand, and if he casts out demons by the finger of God, a phrase the teacher traces back to Exodus, then the kingdom has already arrived. The class works through the unclean spirit that returns with seven worse, the sign of Jonah, and the woes pronounced over Pharisees and lawyers at a dinner table, including the line about unmarked graves. It ends by framing Luke 12 as a single sermon of nine warnings.
