Why We Sing A Cappella

The biblical case for unaccompanied worship

A Question Worth Taking Seriously

If you have worshipped with us, you may have noticed something different: there are no instruments. No piano, no guitar, no organ. Just voices. For many visitors, this raises an immediate question: why?

What the New Testament Says

Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16 describe the worship of the early church as vocal - singing and making melody in the heart to the Lord. We believe this is the pattern God gave the New Testament church.

Ephesians 5:19

Why This Matters

When we sing without instruments, every voice in the room is necessary. There are no spectators. The congregation is the choir. That is, we believe, exactly what God intended - his people singing together as one body.

If you have questions about our worship practices, we welcome the conversation. Speak with any elder or minister after services.
