Finding Community in a Busy World

Why we were made for more than acquaintances

The Loneliness Nobody Talks About

Most people in our culture have acquaintances but not friends. They are constantly connected but chronically alone. The church exists, in part, to be the answer to this - but only if we actually show up for one another.

Galatians 6:2

What Real Community Requires

Community is not a program. You cannot produce it with a well-designed small group curriculum or a compelling Sunday experience. Those things help, but they cannot substitute for what community actually requires: showing up, over time, with honest people who know your name.

We are a small enough congregation that we can actually know one another. That is not a weakness - it is one of our greatest advantages.

How to Get Connected

The simplest path into community at Hillcrest is to show up consistently and introduce yourself. Every elder, minister, and ministry leader is available to help you find your place here.
